1. Our Core Privacy Philosophy

Proofcut is designed from the ground up for video editors, filmmakers, creators, and their clients. We believe in minimal data collection:

We do not force your clients to create accounts, enter passwords, or install tracking software.
We do not sell, rent, or monetize your video drafts, annotations, or client feedback.
You maintain 100% ownership and copyright over all video files and creative assets uploaded to Proofcut.

2. Information We Collect

We only collect the minimal information necessary to provide frame-accurate video review:

Account Information: When you register as an editor or creator, we collect your name and email address for account authentication and billing.
Client Review Notes & Markups: When clients leave notes or draw on videos, we store the reviewer name they provide, their comment text, timecodes, and visual markup vectors.
Video Media Files: Video and audio files you upload are stored securely in encrypted cloud storage solely for the purpose of playback and client review.

3. Private Review Links & Client Access

Each project cut is assigned a unique private review link. Only individuals who possess the specific review link can view the video draft and leave timestamped feedback. You have full authority to delete projects and revoke review links at any time from your dashboard.

4. Data Security & Encryption

All data transmission between your browser, our servers, and storage infrastructure is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS encryption. Media files are stored in high-reliability secure data centers.

5. Data Deletion & Export

You can delete any project or media version at any time directly from your dashboard. When you delete a project, all associated video files, comments, and drawing annotations are permanently purged from our active storage.
